In the 118th Congress 2023, Representative Joe Neguse of Colorado's 2nd District introduced H. Res. 195 in the U.S. House of Representatives. Joined by nearly five dozen cosponsors, the resolution calls for the creation of a National Biodiversity Strategy. In the 117th Congress, Rep. Neguse, along with 49 other House members, including House Natural Resources Committee Ranking Member Raul Grijalva, sent a letter to President Biden calling on him to develop a national strategy. H. State Legislatures

In 2022, 365 state legislators sent a letter to President Biden urging the creation of a National Biodiversity Strategy to address the biodiversity crisis. The bipartisan letter was signed by legislators from 48 states and territories.
